Sweet Stamps Spotlight Challenge

Today our challenge at Sweet Stamps blog is to create a Spotlight project/card. The spotlight challenge is where you only color in a part of your stamped image to highlight just that one section. This is an awesome challenge, we want to see what you come up with for this theme. Can't wait to see what you all can come up with, but be sure to use a Sweet Stamps stamp....

Anyone can enter, but if you use a Sweet Stamps rubber stamp you get two entries into the challenge for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree. Visit the design team blog and you will see what everyone on the Design team has done.

Here is my creation:

I used the "Cutwork Rose 7011" for my image today.  I stamped the Cutwork Rose out twice onto my cardstock and colored only one part of it on one of the stamped images using my copics.  I used an oval die to cut out my colored part and a scalloped die for the mat behind it.  I layered these on top of my other stamped image.  I added a mat behind the non colored image and a border on the right side with some of the Candi dots added to the border. For the finishing touch, I added a bow made out of a rainbow ribbon.

Be sure to visit Sweet Stamps blog and see what the rest of the team has created for you.   And please join in on the fun!

Happy Birthday Wendy!!!!

Today is Wendy's Birthday.  She is the owner of Repeat Impressions.  SO all of us on her awesome Design Team and a few of the past Rock Stars, have gotten together to do a special Blog Hop in honor of Wendy's Birthday Today.

Happy Birthday Wendy!!!!

Here is the card I created just for Wendy:

I decided to make a gate fold card.  I used 3 different stamps from Repeat Impressions, "1603-K, Bouquet Bear", " Happy Birthday" and "  1819-I, Wishing you happiness . . .    ".  This is a picture of the card laying flat, the only way I could get the flap to stay closed was to use a bit of re-positional tape.
This is what the card looks like standing alone:
And finally one that is open to show the inside:

Hope you have an AWESOME DAY WENDY!!!!!

Here is a list of all of the Rock Stars and previous Rock Stars that are participating in today's hop to Wish Wendy a Happy Birthday:

Lastly, go to the Repeat Impressions Facebook Page and wish Wendy a Happy Birthday!

Beatirx Potter

Hi Everyone!! I am here on this Friday with another sneak peek, this time using the Beatrix Potter  collection that will soon be available at Crafter's Companion!

I used two stamps for my card today, Benjamin and .

I decided to try my hand at making a Tri Shutter Card.  Here are the directions that I followed to make my card.

You need a 5 1/2 " x 12" piece of card stock for your card base.
Then you will use your Ultimate Tool and the Boxer score board and score at 2", 4", 8" and 10", you will have to move your paper in order to score at 10" as the score lines only go up to 8". Picture below shows the score lines.

Then you will lay your card base with short end at the top of the score board and measure down 1 1/2" and start to cut a slit using your craft knife all the way down to the 10" score line. Repeat this step for the other side of the card base.  Your card base should look like the picture above.

Then you will fold your card as pictured below:

This is your card base, now you will decorate your card base.  You will need to trace the T shape of your card onto your DP and cut out, you will need 2 of these.
The other pieces are:  4 pieces of DP at 1 3/8 x 1 7/8
                               2 pieces of DP at 1 3/8 x 3 7/8
                               1 piece of DP at 2 3/8 x 3 7/8

Adhere these pieces to the right sections on your card base

Decorate your card as you please....

Hope you will give the Tri Shutter Card a try.  It was pretty easy to do and I plan on making more cards like this.

See you all next Friday with another sneak peek of another new release..

What If Wednesday - Repeat Impressions Sketch Challenge

It’s WHAT IF? Wednesday
and time for a new sketch challenge!
The sketch that Wendy designed for the Rock
Stars to follow is:
Here is my take on the sketch:

 I used the 2706-K, Loon
for my card today.  It is pretty simple today,
I stamped the Loon with brown ink onto some
white card stock and decided to leave it as is.
I added a strip punched with a border punch and a
few pearls.

Head on over to the House That Stamps Built blog and
see what the rest of the Rock Stars have created with
this great sketch.  While you are there why not enter
a creation that you have done following the sketch.
The rules are really simple......
Your card doesn’t even have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps,
but if you would like to include our designs we would really love to see them!
Plus you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing
for using our stamps in your submissions! Simply create a
card based on the sketch, upload your card to your blog
or Splitcoast gallery, then link your card to this post
Have Fun and I can't wait to see all the wonderful creations.

Sweet Stamps Easter challenge

Today our challenge at Sweet Stamps blog is to create a Easter project/card.

I decided to pull out the parchment for the challenge today.  I used the regular parchment for my "Tulip Bunny".  I stamped Tulip Bunny onto the vellum with white dye ink and heat embossed it with white detail embossing powder. I etched the bunny white using the embossing mat and the soft grip stylus tools. I used the PITT markers to color the tulip and the bow. I then used the 4 split perforating tool to cut out my bunny.
I stamped the "Pretty Oval Frame" onto some rainbow vellum with white dye ink and I heat embossed it with white detail embossing powder.  I etched some of the design and left some areas open.
I added some rainbow ribbon that matched the rainbow vellum and a bow.

Be sure to visit Sweet Stamps blog and see what the rest of the team has created for you.   And please join in on the fun!

Sailing the Seven Seas

Hi Everyone!! I am here on this Friday with another sneak peek, this time using the Sketchy collection from Sheena Douglas that will soon be available at Crafter's Companion! I used the ship stamp for my card today.

I made an easel card.  There are so may directions on how to make an easel card, but I will briefly explain how I did mine.

*  First you want to create a card base, I usually use a piece of cardstock cut to 6x12 and score at 6" and fold. But for my card today, I used one of my larger dies to make a shaped card.
*  Next cut out another piece of cardstock using the same die or shape as the card base.
*  Then on the card base, you will take the top section and score it in half. If using a 6" card, this would be at the 3" score line. The Ultimate Tool is great for scoring your cards.
*  Then you will attach the single cut out/shape to the bottom section on the scored side, on the base of your card.
*  This is your easel card.  You then decorate as you wish. You will want to put something with a bit of height on the main card so that the top of your card will stand up (you can see in my picture that I added some black pearls on top of a double layer border.

A closer look at my easel card:

See you all next Friday with another sneak peek of another new release..

Make It Crafty

Make it Crafty is having a DT call.  I LOVE the images/stamps that are available at Make it Crafty.  They are so great to use my copics on.  They have lots of detail and I really enjoy coloring them up.  I would really like to be able to put all my knowledge that I have with the copics to use.

I made 2 cards for this call.  Here is the first one:
I used "Zoe Celebrates" and colored her using my copics.

Here is a closer look at my coloring:

 Here's a list of copics that I used on my image: R85, R83, R81, E11, E00, E000, R20, B99, B97, B95, B93, B91, E9, E7, E25, E23, E21

And here is my 2nd card:
I used "Sam and Dylan fishing" for my image on this card.

And a closer look at my coloring:

Here is a list of my copics used for this image: E11, E00, E000, R22, R24, R7, B91, B93, B95, B97, E31, E33, E35, G28, G24, G21, YG67, YG63, YG61

And here is one that I just did today, Wednesday Mar 14th:

1. Country you reside in (DT is open to everyone worldwide) I live in York, PA USA

2. What style of creations do you like to make? I prefer to make cards, I do a little bit of lots of bling to plain and simple

3. What do you enjoy most about crafting? It is so very relaxing to me.  I really enjoy using my copic markers and coloring in all the awesome images that I have.

4. What are your favourite products at Make it Crafty? I would have to say all of your awesome digital images.  The scenes are really great as well as the new images you just added.

5. Why would you like to be on the Make it Crafty team? I feel I could make your images come alive using my copics.  You can see above at my 3 images that I colored.  I taught myself how to use the copics and all the many techniques with using them.  Your images are so great to use the copics with and I would really like to find a DT that I can put my knowledge of the copics to use. thanks for this great opportunity.....

One of my favorite projects to date has to be the Anthony and Burt get well set that I made.  Once I learned how to make these hinged boxes, I haven't stopped.  They can be used for so many things/ideas.   The link to my card and project is HERE. Another of my favorite card that I have done so far this year is the first one on this post.  This image reminds me so much of myself when I get good news.  I like to jump up and down and yell......

Little Ballerina

Hi Everyone!! I am here on this Friday with another sneak peek, this time using the Paintbox Poppets' collection that will soon be available at Crafter's Companion! I used the Ballerina stamp for my card today.

I stamped my image onto cryogen card stock and colored her in using my alcohol ink markers.  I have a habit of creating scenes with my images.  The little ballerina looked like she needed to be on a hardwood floor. I cut out my colored image using a die and then I added some lace and some pearls.

A closer look at my colored image:

I will share a bit on how I made the hardwood floor.

First you take a ruler.  You want to lightly draw a horizontal line where you want the floor to be.  You will then take and draw a vertical line. This will create a corner.  I also took and drew a vertical line to create the wall corner.

Next, you will take your ruler and again very lightly, draw horizontal lines to make the boards of the hardwood floors.  You want to follow the first horizontal line in the way it goes.  The boards closer to you should be a little bit bigger that the ones further away.

Next you start to color your floor boards. You will color the sections closest to where the floor meets the wall darker and go outwards with a lighter color.

Next, I used my grey markers and very lightly added shadows to create the corner of the wall.  I also used the greys on the area where the floor meets the walls.  This will give you some dimension to make it look like a real wall.  Of course, you could also make the wall to look like mirrors if you wanted to.

See you all next Friday with another sneak peek of another new release..

Alcohol Ink markers used: R81, R83, R85, R20, E11, E00, E000, E39, E37, E35, E33, E31, E59, W1, W3, W0

Sweet Stamps Monochromatic Challenge

Today our challenge at Sweet Stamps blog is to create a Monochromatic project/card.

I used the "Short Teapot Set S012" and the "Pouring Out Wishes 988" sentiment on my card today. I stamped the Tea Pot first, then the cup and then the pouring hearts.I cut out my colored image using Cheery Lynn Scallop Coved Rectangles.  I cut out a mat for behind it.  After looking at my matted image, I decided that I wanted to have some sort of  lacy mat behind my cut out image, but nothing I had really worked.  So I used the Cherry Lynn Lace Light Deco Border and cut the border apart and layered each piece behind my cut out image to create a double frame around my image. I dug out my Medium Rose Cheery Lynn die and made 4 flowers and put a brad in the center of each.  I finished off with a lace bow, the lace was white and I colored it using my copics to match the color of the card and my colored image.

And here is a second card that I made:
This card uses the "Graduation Bear & Congrats DUO 227" stamp set.  My image is colored with copics.  I made this card for my daughters graduation in June.  Her school colors are gold and black and on graduation day, the girls wear gold gowns and the boys wear black.  Kerri, my daughter, got accepted to Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA for their vet program.  Congrats Kerri!!!!

Stamp It Renaissance Squares

Hi Everyone!! I am here on this Friday with another sneak peek using the Stamp It collection that will soon be available at Crafter's Companion! I used the stamp Renaissance Squares for my project today.

I created a spotlight card, except I didn't spotlight just one little thing, I spotlighted 4 things.

I was sitting here looking at these stamps, I picked this stamp out and thought it would look good with a few of the squares highlighted.  So I picked out 4 of them and colored them using the new Spectrum Noir alcohol ink markers.

I then cut out each colored square and popped them up using pop dots onto the top of another stamped image.   I double matted my finished image and then added a few pearls and voila, card is done.  Pretty simple today, but I think I really like how it turned out.

See you all next Friday with another sneak peek of another new release..

Here is my creation for the March Challenge of Going Green:

I used the Swalk Daydream Believer stamp set.  I didn't want to use a dark or a really bright green color, so I went for a very soft green color.  I also used my blender pen to make the lightest color very light.  I used the tip to tip method.  I also used my  markers to color my white ribbon the same green color that I used on my image and to color the white pearls in the 4 corners. I used a cloud template and created some clouds.  My sentiment is stamped onto card stock and I cut it to look like a banner.  I created it to look a bit wavy when I attached it to my card.

Here's a picture of my card flat so you can see the wavy banner:
I added a bunch of pearls to finish off my card.

So get out those Crafter's Companion stamps and start creating for this challenge and you could win the awesome prize mentioned above.

Make sure you go to the Crafter's Companion USA Challenge Blog to get all the details of how to enter, etc....

Thanks For Stopping By,
