Twirling Fairy

This is my very first post using a digital image from The Stamping Boutique.  If you have been following my blog, you will know that I have been selected to be on their Design Team.
This is so exciting....

For my first card, I have used an image called "Twirling Fairy".  I LOVE fairies, so this one really caught my eye.

I printed the image on Cryogen Iridescent white card-stock and colored her with my copics.

Here is a close up of the image:

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

The Stamping Boutique Monthly challenge - use any The Stamping Boutique image

Turtle Love

It's Thursday and another great release at Whimsy Stamps with Meljen's Designs.  These new digi's are really great and you'll want to pick up a couple of them for those Valentine Cards that you need to make.
Today I have chosen to use Meljen's Designs "Lovin Turtle".  This is a real cute image, as is all of Melissa's designs.....

I decided to do something TOTALLY different for me on this card.  I did not use one Copic Marker on the card....  GASP....  I did a technique that I have not done in a while, Paper Piecing.   I think my card turned out pretty nice... Would be great for a young child for Valentine's day....  I also didn't add any sparkle to my card, so GASP again..... But I did add some lace.....I also made this into a pocket card, the scallop oval pulls out at the top and you can place a sentiment on the tag. This card also opens up as a normal card does so you can add some more Love inside....

Here is another take that I had on using this great digi image
from Meljen's Designs for Whimsy Stamps.
I decided to go "Outside" my box and make a shaped card.
A Turtle shaped card....

I just love what you can do with the digital images... They can be resized, which I did for this card, you can flip them, use more than one image on a card, so many things.....  I also did paper piecing for this Turtle shaped card.... And I added some googly eyes to make him look really great......

For this turtle shaped card I took the digital image and re-sized it to the size that I wanted and then printed him out. I then cut out my turtle shape to use as a pattern. Took my folded piece of card stock and traced the turtle shape making sure I had the fold line inside the shape.   Then I cut around my shape.  You will then need to print out the turtle digi, in the same size you used for the pattern, on different color card stock.  Then just cut out the shapes/areas you want to layer and start layering them.  I used foam pop dots to give my turtle some dimension..... Hope you all will give this a try, it is very easy....

Anyhow, thanks for looking at my creations today.  I hope you will take a look at my DT members creations as well.  You can get a list HERE at the Whimsy blog, or on my sidebar under Whimsy Stamps DT......

"Thanks A Bunch"

Today is Thursday
and that means another wonderful new release of digital images
from Melissa Jenkins of Meljen's Designs for Whimsy Stamps.
These new digital images can be found at the Whimsy Stamps store HERE.

Today I have chosen to use the "Swirly Daisy Pot" digital image.

I made a "Thanks A Bunch" card.
This image can be used for so many different things, occasions, etc.
As most of my cards usually have sparkle to them, I added some sparkle to the
swirls around the flowers using the Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Holo Iridescent color.
This is pretty much a clear with glitter in it. This was my first time using this product
and I love it.

I have not been  doing much to the insides of my cards, but I've seen
others that have and decided to give it a shot.  Here is the inside
of my "Thanks A Bunch" card.
I just took some of the same papers that I used on the front and layered them,
then added some of my favorite pearls.  I even made a bow and
attached a charm that I added a "Thanks A Bunch" rub on to.
Here's a close up of my bow and charm:

Hope you will take the time to visit some of my fellow DT blogs to see what they
have created with the new Meljen's Designs release today.

New Beginnings

The House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge blog is having a "New Beginnings"  Challenge.
I decided to join in the challenge as I have quite a few "New" things going on in this "New" year.

For the challenge I decided to try my hand at a shaker card.  On the House Mouse yahoo group that I belong to, one of the members made shaker New Year's cards.  So as I have never made one before, I thought that would be a great project to do.

So here's my "Shake Me Up" card to Celebrate my
new beginnings.

This challenge is for "New Beginnings", well I have a few "new" things going on.  I started this New Year as a "new" designer for the Whimsy Stamps Digital DT.  YEAH !!!!!!

This is a close up of my House Mouse image that I used.
(Sorry about the glare from the flash)

And another picture of the card:

Around and Around We Go

For my Whimsy Stamps Blog Hop go to HERE:

Hi everyone !!!!   I have been doing some blog hopping and checking out different challenges.  I have to say I am a little bit overwhelmed with all the challenges that are out there.  I stumbled upon the Sketch and Stash Challenge Blog the other day.  On the Challenge blog they give you a new sketch to follow every 2 weeks.  You can rotate the sketch, resize the elements and add extra elements if needed.

The next part of the challenge is to use your newest or neglected stash on the card you create to enter the challenge. You can use new/neglected paper, new/neglected stamp, new/neglected embellishments etc. They can all be new/neglected or just one thing which is new/neglected, that's up to you!
When you're posting your card on your blog please let everyone know what your new/neglected items are, the make or manufacturer and a link to where you bought it from if possible!
But most importantly, HAVE FUN!!

I thought this sounded like a great challenge and decided to try my hand at it.  I am submitting the following card for the challenge.

This card uses neglected papers that I have had for over a year, have no clue where I got them from.  It uses new ribbon from Michael's and a new digital image from Whimsy Stamps.

Here's a close up of my image, which is called "Dance of Love", which is a digital image created by Crissy for Whimsy Stamps

My image is printed onto Cryogen Iridescent white card stock and colored with my Copics.

As you can tell this card was made a little bit more simple.  I didn't use too many embellishments or too many papers, etc.... This would I guess be considered a Clear and Simple card for me.  As I always use alot of embellishments or sparkle on my cards.
Challenges that I'm entering this card into:
Sketch and Stash Challenge Blog - use anything that is new or neglected
Stamp Something - use a digi
The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge - anything goes as long as it includes an animal
Totally Gorjuss - challenge 62 its a sketch
Inky Impressions Challenge - Ribbon & Pearls

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Whimsy Stamps "Dance of Love" digital image
Paper: AC card stock, sparkling hearts paper (don't know where it came from)
Copics: BG01, BG000, BG0000, BG05, BG07, BG09, R20, R22, R24, R27,W0, W1, W3, W4, W5, W6

"Frog Prince"

For my Whimsy Stamps Blog Hop Post,
go down to the previous post HERE, Thanks...

I'm having so much fun with the new digital images from Whimsy Stamps, that I created another card.  For this card I used an image that was created by Meljen's Designs called "Frog Prince", this image comes already colored, but I asked and they sent me a Black and white image so I could color it with my Copics.  I really like these new images that were released today at the Whimsy Stamp Store. There are so many possibilities with all the images, you can use them separately or you can combine a couple images together. You can re-size the images, flip them, rotate them, etc..

The image was printed on Cryogen Iridescent White card stock with my lase printer.
And colored with my copic markers.

The sentiment is one that I found on the internet when I googled "frog prince sayings".
Here's a close up of my "Frog Prince":

If you look at the closeup picture, you can see the sparkle that is coming from the Cryogen Iridescent white card stock.  I love this card stock to use with my Copics.
The card is a shaped card created with my Grand Labels 4 dies. I also used 2 dies layered to make a
"frame" for my "Frog Prince".

Challenges Entered:
Inky Impressions Challenge - Ribbon & Pearls

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Whimsy Stamps "Frog Prince" digital image from Meljen's designs
Paper:  Cryogen iridescent white card stock, Recollections Gemstones card stock (this card stock has such a great shimmer to it)
Copics:  G99, G85, G82, G40, R20, R22, R24, R27, B01, B00, B000, B0000, W0, W1, W3, W5, YR24, YR21, YR20

Whimsy Stamps January Digi Release Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone!!!
Whimsy Stamps is having a New Digi Release TODAY!!!!   If you can't tell, I'm a bit excited. This is my very FIRST post AND blog hop as a NEW deisigner for the Whimsy Stamps Digital Design Team.  I'm thrilled to be able to work beside all the wonderful talent of the design team and of course I also LOVE Whimsy Stamps designs, what more could I want.

WELCOME to the January digi release blog hop !!!
We have LOTS of new images and sentiments to share with you today that were
created by Crissy, Ann and also Meljen's Designs collections.  We also have some Beautiful Pre-colored images that are great for making those "QUICK" cards that are designed by Melissa Jenkins (Meljen's Designs).  Each file is JPG at 300dpi for high print quality.  You can resize, flip or rotate the images to fit your own project needs.

If you arrived here from the lovely Vicki's blog then you are on the right track ! If you just happened to wander here, I'm glad to see you, but you may want to go back to the start of the hop at Whimsy Inspirations Blog to make sure you don't miss out on anything !!

Be sure to leave a comment on each of the blogs participating in the hop for there will be SIX Mystery DT Members who will be choosing a winner from the comments left on their hop posts !!  These winners will each win a Whimsy digital image of their choice.  And at the last stop, which is Denise's blog, there will be a Grand Prize winner chosen that will receive 5 new digital images of their choice from Whimsy, and they will also get a chance to use those new digital images as a guest designer for Whimsy for the month of January.

TODAY, I have chosen
to use a digital image created by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps.  It is called "Dance of Love".  This image makes the carousel horse seem so graceful and so elegant.  I just love these images from Crissy.

My image is printed out on my laser printer onto Cryogen White cardstock and colored with Copics. I also added some stickles for some sparkle.

When I first saw this image I was reminded of a Carnival with the Carousel ride.  I used to love the Carousel as a child and I still like to get on it when we go to Hershey Park, PA.  I was also reminded of cotton candy, don't know why, but this made me think of the pink fluffy sweet stuff. And that led to the Conversation Heart sentiments that I made.  All SWEET stuff.....

Here's a closeup of my "Dance with Love" image.

All of these new designs are available at the Whimsy Stamps store starting TODAY.

The hop will run until 12 noon EST Thursday 13th January.
The winner will be announced over on the Whimsy Inspirations Blog
